A Small Oasis in Dubai

Posted on 26. Mar, 2013 by in Destinations

Dubai is known for the biggest of everything and can be perceived as quite flamboyant but The Ritz-Carlton goes against this – it is truly an oasis in Dubai with a great stretch of beach and the Dubai Marina not far away. In my opinion, the new wing at The Ritz-Carlton Dubai puts it right up there with the best of the best. It’s been done to a very high standard and we really were wowed when we arrived.

Warm, Personal Service

It really is the attention to detail which you notice, for example, staff greet you by name and remember you throughout your stay. On arrival at the pool, you’re given a cool bag with cold water in and then staff come round with fruit sticks mid morning followed by ice pops in the afternoon to keep you cool and refreshed – a great little touch!

Luxury Suite at the Ritz Carlton Duabi

Excellent Room Choice and Amenities

The lead-in Deluxe Room category is a generous 50m², next you have a Junior Suite which is 90m² – and although it’s called a Junior Suite, I’d say it’s actually more like a one-bedroom suite as the large bedroom is separated by a door to the connecting lounge and guest bathroom. Each room has oversized rain showers and bathtubs which are wonderful – the perfect place for a soak after a day by the pool or on the beach. They also have a great selection of inter-connecting rooms which are perfect for families. Each room boasts an iPod docking station and Nespresso machine while all the air-conditioning, lighting and curtains are controlled by touch sensitive panels by the bed. We were lucky enough to stay in a Junior Suite which was a real treat. Not only was it beautiful and spacious, all the modern touches were also simple and easy to use!

The food here is just fantastic! We spent an evening at Le Baie Lounge which is a great place to relax and chill out. ‘Funky’ music gives it a contemporary vibe and private cabanas can be booked as a package for the evening to include Champagne and light bites. The Lounge is centred around a large pool close to the beach and serves great cocktails. We had a brilliant night here drinking champagne and chatting with guests – highly recommended! We also spent a superb night at Amaseena, although this isn’t part of the new wing, its typically Arabic tents and low sofas give it a very relaxed atmosphere near to the beach. They don’t have a menu as such – but an elaborate buffet is on offer with a phenomenal amount of choice and the chefs are all on hand to make recommendations or bring over selections of everything for you to try. Its outdoor setting is a very popular venue where locals also hang out and what better way to end the evening than with a traditional shisha pipe!

Improved Club Lounge

The Club Lounge is now larger, offers complimentary wi-fi and is an exclusive venue reserved for clients booking Club accommodation. Five sumptuous food and beverage presentations are offered throughout the day and you really could regard this as ‘all-inclusive’ if you wished as drinks are served all day long! It’s a fantastic facility which also gives you that added feeling of exclusivity.

Overall, I really can’t fault the new and improved Ritz-Carlton, Dubai – the new wing has enhanced what was already a fantastic hotel and the new facilities, combined with the impeccable standards of service and the very special treatment which all Elegant Resorts’ guests receive, make this an excellent choice for your next holiday in the sun.’
