Mauritius: Sun, Sea and Spectacular Luxury!

Posted on 17. Oct, 2012 by in Destinations

In one of the most naturally beautiful environments in the world, the Four Seasons Resort at Anahita on the east coast of Mauritius, is a unique and unforgettable holiday destination. On arrival, I couldn’t help but be impressed by the resort’s dramatic backdrop of mountains and green rolling hills while the buildings by contrast, were chic and understated – with a choice of luxury villas and suites fit seamlessly into the surrounding environment.Four Seasons Mauritius, Elegant Resorts

Our accommodation was excellent: the suites are nestled against a hillside, overlooking the Anahita’s stunning bay and include both interior and exterior living areas. Each comes with its own private pool – I could have spent hours relaxing inside and outside my room with everything I needed within arm’s reach!

When you do decide to explore the resort, you’ll find a vibrant, friendly community atmosphere. The layout of the suites creates a ‘village’ feel – it’s easy to meet other guests and socialize in the incredibly relaxed surroundings. There are 8 superb options for dining, including reserving your own private chef for your villa – or visting Chef Jean-Pierre Vigato’s two-Michelin Star restaurant.

There’s a lot to choose from within the resort. For sun-worshippers, there’s a private beach club offering a stretch of pristine white sand and gorgeous, crystal clear water. More adventurous guests can try an array of watersports, including water-skiing and deep sea diving. Keen golfers will want to head out onto the Ernie Els par-72 course but for those (like me) who don’t really care for golf on holiday, don’t worry – you’ll be more than happy with the pampering spa treatments at the resort’s wellness centre!

If you’re holidaying as a family, the Four Seasons Resort at Anahita has a lot to offer: the activity programme offers events perfect for the whole family and there’s a kids club and a teens club to cater to younger guests. Everything in this resort is set up to be as hassle-free as possible – from the excellent, friendly staff, on hand to help out with anything – to the fully-stocked fridge in your suite on arrival! It was a fantastic trip – for so many reasons – and a highly-recommendable holiday resort.
